In his farewell speech, John Kerry said that the "unending chase for money" has led to a "corruption" of the political system. He said everyone knows it, but nothing is done. Yet the Supreme Court argued with its Citizens United decision that money doesn't corrupt.
Do you believe that the "unending chase for money" has corrupted politics?
If so, then we've got a job for you.
Rootstrikers is teaming up with the Huffington Post to crowdsource political accountability on money in politics.
Making sure the public knows where their representative stands on our issue is the first step toward holding them accountable for the reform we need. And if any representatives dare deny that they "lean to the green," then our friends at the Huffington Post will make sure everyone knows about it. Either way, being able to leverage this kind of publicity is a win-win.
But we can't do it without you. Help us get politicians on the record about corruption and make sure they take a stand that counts.
To prove a politician is on the record, please submit a speech transcript, audio clip, or video file. Upload your audio to Sound Cloud and tag it #campaignmoney. Send files to us directly at info@rootstrikers.org.
